The European Fan Plam has a variable growth habit. They can be either single trunked or have multiple trunks. Fan palms have spines or sharp edges on the palm so watch it or they will poke you. This palm makes a great tub or container palm for the patio all the way north to Zone 6 where it can just be taken in when extremley cold weather pops up. Or if you prefer you can just cover it and leave it all winter. This palm is slow growing but worth the wait. Zone 8 and warmer but can be taken in or covered if you live in a colder climate.
